Invited talk at the 3rd Virtual Meetup of the German-speaking community on user-centered AI.

Today, we were kicking-off our project on value-driven recommendations. I am looking forward working closely together with Karin van Es, Chandni Bagchi, Olu Hundogan—and, of course, with people from DPG Media who co-fund this project.

Many news platforms provides uses with recommendations for a personalized experience that fits their interests and needs. However, aside from the consumption of news articles and user loyalty, additional values are relevant that need to be integrated in news recommender systems.
